Peggy Ashcroft, DBE (Londres, 22 de dezembro de 1907 - Londres, 14 de junho de 1991) foi uma premiada atriz britânica nascida na Inglaterra.

John Boynton Priestley (; 13 September 1894 – 14 August 1984) was an English novelist, playwright, screenwriter, broadcaster and social commentator.

His Yorkshire background is reflected in much of his fiction, notably in The Good Companions (1929), which first brought him to wide public notice. Many of his plays are structured around a time slip, and he went on to develop a new theory of time, with different dimensions that link past, present and future.

In 1940, he broadcast a series of short propaganda radio talks, which were credited with strengthening civilian morale during the Battle of Britain. In the following years his left-wing beliefs brought him into conflict with the government and influenced the development of the welfare state. He wrote a number of plays during this period, including An Inspector Calls (1945).

Paul LeRoy Bustill Robeson (Princeton, 9 de abril de 1898 — Filadélfia, 23 de janeiro de 1976) foi um renomado ator de teatro e cinema, concertista baixo-barítono, jogador de futebol profissional, escritor e ativista americano dos direitos políticos e civis.

Robeson foi o primeiro ator negro a interpretar Otelo, de Shakespeare, na Broadway. Ator conceituado, em sua época, tanto no teatro, quanto no cinema, Robeson foi responsável por abrir as portas para outros atores negros, tais como Sidney Poitier e Harry Belafonte.

No auge de sua fama, Robeson decidiu tornar-se um ativista político contra o fascismo e o racismo. Adepto dos ideais socialistas, foi perseguido pelo Macartismo, investigado pelo FBI e o MI5.

O arquivo de Paul Robeson no FBI é, até hoje, um dos mais extensos já produzidos para um membro do meio artístico.

Em 1952 recebeu o Prêmio Lênin da Paz.
